ABOUT
SCOTTISH TERRIERS

The Scottish Terrier has been a recognizable breed since the late 1800’s, thriving in the rough and rugged terrain of the Scottish Highlands. Sometimes called the Diehard, this dog is known as tough and generally healthy, protected from the elements by a thick double coat and from illness by an overall strong, disease-resistant constitution.

Originally bred to hunt vermin in underground burrows, the Scottie is an independent thinker with a fearless tenacity. His heavy bone, solid body, powerful jaws and punishing teeth make him an impressive adversary. At the same time, this is a dog that is loyal to his family, sensitive to criticism, and intelligent. He loves a good game.
